Alongside working on assignments for clients, ITSX also conducts ongoing
research and development projects. These projects can be both offensive
and defensive oriented. They are not only beneficial to our own people
but may be interesting to others as well.
Security vulnerabilities
At ITSX a fair amount of security research is performed. Some of this
research leads to publications:
PocketPC (2003) ›
Nokia SMS crash (2001) ›
Sun Solaris snmpXdmid (2001) ›
Sun
Solaris ufsrestore (2000) ›
Common Desktop Environment (CDE)
(1999) ›
Kernel Hacking
Although this is a 'known' issue, very limited attention is put to the
dangers and effects of kernel modification. To aid in understanding the
issues involved an overview page was created. Also an example kit was
published to show the effects of kernel modifications.
Tools
Some of the tools we wrote for testing are now published. See our tools
page for more information.
